I'm a software developer and sysadmin, currently based in Austin, Texas. I've been tinkering with computers since I was a teenager, and I've worked in IT in various roles for the past ~15 years. I run a web hosting and development business, and I've built software and infrastructure for a variety of happy clients. I have functional abilities as a copyeditor/content developer and graphic designer. My consulting and development services start at $90/hour, with a one hour minimum.
My resume is available.
As for this web site, it exists primarily to help me remember how to do things I don't do very often. I used to run this place in WordPress but have since migrated it over to Drupal 7 with a customized version of the AdaptiveTheme at_admin theme. WordPress didn't quite work the way I wanted it to, but of course Drupal doesn't either, so I've performed some customizations.
These days I work mostly on Linux/Unix distros like Fedora, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, Mint, OpenSUSE, FreeBSD, and OpenBSD, using stuff like WordPress, Drupal, Joomla!, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache, Nginx, AWStats, Munin, Git, Snort, Postfix, Dovecot, Varnish, Pound, SquirrelMail, and RoundCube. I'm also fluent in most variants of Windows and the Mac OS and have done development on both. I run recent vintages of Fedora on my personal computers.
